We slept in this morning and walked downtown for a big breakfast at Adobe Springs.

I ordered the usual pancakes and eggs and had way bigger eyes than stomach as I ordered two stacks of pancakes that were humongous!

Before we left, I asked our waitress about a good place to get a cinnamon roll and she pulled up the blinds on the window and pointed across the street, “Diane’s bakery has some that are so good!” Perfect. I loved getting info from a local.

So we walked across the street, ordered some bakery items, then headed down the street to a grocery store to resupply.

I was happy I didn’t have to buy very much as I carried extra from my resupply box in Docs.

We then came back to our hotel to relax for a while. During this time I worked on blogs, called my parents, and ate my cinnamon roll.

It was extremely yummy! I would give it a 9/10, placing it around my 3rd favorite and the only cinnamon roll I’ve had in New Mexico so far! It had great flavor and the inside was great texture but outside seemed a little dry. I bet this would have been a 10/10 once right out of the oven!

Around 2 we headed to Jalisco’s Cafe with Akela and Karma. We were recommended this restaurant by a few locals and it did not disappoint. I ordered some enchiladas and it was so tasty! Even the chips and salsa were on point.

We took a long lunch, laughing and enjoying trail stories then went to a coffee shop and did the same. It was unexpected since we thought Akela and Karma were going to hike out today but we were so happy they stayed around and we all got to spend time together.

Eventually we decided to head back to the hotel to take Epsom salt baths and get ready for tomorrow.

Silver City’s downtown has popping colors which I love, it makes this area vibrant and alive.

It’s been a nice, easy zero day. A week left of hiking to do. We are so close! Being in a city makes me dread going back to real life though, it’s so noisy!

It’ll be a transition again, but I have gone through this a few times now!

Night Night.
