Day 37: A Well Deserved Zero Day.

June 16th, 2021

Mile Marker: 788.5

Miles Hiked Today: 0

This morning we all slept in and knocked out our town chores first thing. We headed to a grocery store for a 5 day resupply, headed to a laundry mat to clean our clothes, called loved ones, and ate an insane amount of food.

Bishop was a neat town. Most everything was on the center strip.

I bought a new used fleece jacket for 10 bucks and sent mine home, it was way too heavy. I spent a little time trying to figure out what else I could send home. We all just want lighter packs, always trying to see what we can get rid of.

Planner and I ate some lunch at a cute little frozen yogurt cafe and got some sandwiches. We had the whole back room to ourselves which was nice to dance to music while eating. 😂

We spent a good amount of time hanging in the hotel as well. Which is always needed.

In the evening some of us went to the local Mountain Rambler Brewery which had a delicious chicken sandwich. We even ordered some brownies afterwards but I couldn’t finish it believe it or not.

I guess I was finally able to make myself full by literally eating/snacking all day and not hiking.

We kept the night short and are in bed relatively early. I had wished for a little bit more rest but there are always chores that need to be done before rest!

Curious what’s to come for the Sierras!
